My research activities concern the ecophysiology of different biotopes in relation with microbial conversion of organic matter to fermentation products. Currently my interests are focused on the role of the termite gut microbiota in the symbiotic digestion of lignocellulose and in emission/uptake of nitrous oxide (N2O) which is a greenhouse gas (GHG). Since October 2016, I have expanded my research activities by my participation in the project Zero Waste Lignocellulosic Bio-Refineries (ZELCOR – European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement n° 720303) which aimed at transforming lignocellulose bio-refinery recalcitrant side streams into high added-value bio-based products.
